on the Ile d’Oléron
A Charente family story
Les Flots-Atlantique ** was born from the merger of Les Flots 1.2.3 and Camping de l’Atlantique, a real life project that took shape in just two years.
In 2022, with the acquisition of the neighboring campsite adjoining Village 2 La Perroche Plage, its hundred or so additional pitches and its unique setting between land and sea offering typical seaside vegetation with its dunes and forests, we took on another dimension to form a park of 243 pitches today, while retaining our authentic family spirit. With this acquisition, we can now offer you direct access to the sea, with a beach that’s almost private!
We are Cyril & Élodie, pure Charentais-Maritimes who decided to change our lives and set down their suitcases on the Ile d’Oléron in 2017 to take over a family campsite by the sea in La Perroche: Camping** Les Flots 123. This human-scale establishment, with 59 residential and rental pitches, was the ideal way for us to get our foot in the door of the outdoor hotel business.
The birth and evolution of camping
For this first year, we’ve hardly changed the way the campsite and its mobile home park operate, concentrating instead on renovating and converting the snack bar into a restaurant so as to offer a menu with local colors (fish and shellfish, oysters from the Marennes Oléron Basin, mussels from the Charente-Maritime region…) and quality at affordable prices. In addition to a friendly, family atmosphere, we strive to establish an ethic that suits us: fresh produce, short supply chains, sustainable and anti-waste management, waste recycling…. It’s all in a day’s work that bears fruit over time.
At the same time, the possible acquisition of the adjoining l’Atlantique campsite gave the young owners the opportunity to imagine new development prospects. As Les Flots 1.2.3 had no bare pitches and few mobile homes to rent, this opportunity enabled us tobroaden our range of tourist offers.
At the start of the 2018 season, the merger was completed, giving birth to Camping Les Flots-Atlantique . At the same time, we gave a new identity to our bar-restaurant, which became a full-fledged establishment with its many services: bar, lunch and dinner on site or takeaway, breakfast, convenience store, WIFI service, social room… It is now called LE COUTIA (meaning “knife” in Charentais patois).
Since then, we’ve been doing our utmost to improve the campsite day by day and offer even more quality services: modernization of the campsite and restaurant facilities, refurbishment of the driveways, renovation of the sanitary block, introduction of bike hire, installation of wifi throughout the site, installation of a launderette, beautification of the green spaces, enlargement of the plots, renewal of the accommodation, upgrading of the bar-restaurant offer… and we’re not stopping there, we still have plenty of plans to improve!

Since May 2022, our history has been enriched by theacquisition of La Perroche Plage campsite, right next door to Village 2. This new campsite gives us direct access to the sea, with a beach that’s almost private, for a relaxing and peaceful vacation.
Further developments followed: the large sanitary block was completely refurbished in 2023, and a new children’s play area was built, offering a modern, safe space for the enjoyment of youngsters. The site also boasts around a hundred additional pitches, including numerous bare pitches for traditional camping enthusiasts. We continue to evolve to offer you ever more welcoming surroundings and quality services.
