Tourist tax: how to declare your overnight stays
The taxe de séjour (tourist tax) is a resource collected by local authorities to finance expenditure linked to tourist numbers and the protection of natural areas. It is governed by the Code général des collectivités territoriales.
How does it work? All you have to do is declare and register the number of people staying each night.
You can then submit the previous month’s declaration between 1ᵉʳ and the 15th of each month. A green “send” button will be available during this period. If you have not sent it by the 15th, it will be automatically transmitted on the 16th at 00:01.
